Strabismus

The only place the eyes are physically connected is in the brain.

Complex neurological processes help the eyes to align and look at the same place in space. The brain tells the eyes where to direct their gaze, and rarely is it a problem in the actual eye muscles themselves that causes strabismus. 

Vision therapy creates different conditions that allow patients to modify their own neurology and control where the eyes point in physical space.
